A message from David Wilkinson for those passionate about their faith who are suddenly / sorely tested and tempted to give up. He is talking not so much about commonplace battles with our ‘old self’, but those moments when God allows us to be sifted like the apostle Peter was – after sometimes great steps forward in our faith.
As an encouragement: Last night at 6 PM service I had a picture of a large gold key with a ring handle. It opened a small wooden keep safe box. I wasn’t sure whose box it was or whose key it was, but a hand turned the key in the box and pulled open the lid.
Inside the box was our little 6pm congregation worshipping God. God was lifting the lid on the box and delighting in the praises coming to him. No matter if we were worshipping tentatively, passionately, wholeheartedly or with the tiniest seed of faith, he was watching and enjoying our praises.
Zephaniah 3:17
For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” NLT
