Well here’s the key proof… arrived yesterday around 4:30pm in time for evening prayer…
Gave the new pilgrim’s stone a little kiss – but I think it will be a few centuries before that erodes away much!

It was a particularly gruelling last few miles – the eighth day of walking 18-20miles a day. I’d climbed 3364m (11036 feet) on the North Downs Way – and a few more on the St Swithun’s path that occupied most of the first two days. All in all I’d walked around 150 miles.
I had thought Canterbury would be the final destination of the pilgrimage, yet the gospel reading at Evensong chimed with my heart and spirit: Jesus said: “Go home and tell of all that God has done”… and that was exactly what I wanted to do… My pilgrimage wasn’t only to Canterbury but would only be finished when I was back home with my wife and kids…

Well done, Richard! Quite an achievement. Now enjoy the rest of your sabbatical. Love from us both xx
